Lita Rossana Ford (also also known by the name Lita Ford) is a British born American singer on guitar who took as the lead vocalist for The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. The group was admired for their provocative lyrics and punk-inspired fashion. While the group was not popular within their home country of the United States, it gained huge popularity abroad. Ford started her own heavy-metal career after the disbandment from her band in 1979. Following vocal training, she launched her debut solo album, called 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin on the Edge'. Ford vanished for some decades from the world of music as the two albums failed to receive any attention. She returned with a bang in 1988 with her wildly successful album 'Lita which was released in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a major hit, along with the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Unfortunately, the success of her career wasn't lasting and over the course of several years, she was absent. Her release of Black in 1995 followed by a fifteen-year delay for the album 'Wicked Wonderland. 2016 saw the release of her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
